9. I Didn’t Think It Was Funny… Part 2.

My sister was so faithful to pray for her wayward sister for years in her “Residential” meetings. She prayed that I would find my way and start making the right choices in my life…

And now there I was with every authority on campus watching me; just waiting for me to break a rule or step over the line.

My big sister is amazing and we have a lot of fun when we can be together, AND I bet you anything that her faithful prayers drew me to the campus I swore to God I would never step foot on again. I am so thankful for my family.

I met my new best friend on a trip to the movies on a double date. It was early February. God wasted no time bringing us together. Humorously though, we were each there with the wrong person.

While our dates ran up and down the escalators, Micah and I sat outside of Starbucks in awkward silence. I wasn’t one to talk to a boy that I didn’t know. Basically… I was a total snob, and when he started asking me questions I stared forward and thought, “Why the heck is this guy talking to me? He’s not even my date! What a flirt.” I would learn later on that New Englanders just like to keep to themselves. I hadn’t ever noticed before what’s a New Englander I was until I met Micah. He was so friendly and so charming, he had a great group of friends that I would soon meet and treasure for years to come.

It didn’t take long for us to realize that we had gone to the movies with the wrong date, and Micah dedicated a U2 song to me on the way back to campus.

I was sold.

“You can’t reason with your heart; it has its own laws, and thumps about things which the intellect scorns.”
